Share a Ride on the Shore

Ride Share

North Shore Ride Share, a free service connecting drivers and riders for travel, carpooling, and package pickup/delivery is available online at www.boreal.org/rideshare.

The North Shore Ride Share site matches drivers who have space with those looking for rides. Drivers and riders simply go to the site, sign up for a membership, post listings for rides offered or needed, and then search or reply to other listings. The service is free.

To help launch the service, the first 25 ride posters will receive $5 gift certificates for Buck’s Hardware in Grand Marais. North Shore Ride Share was developed by the Cook County Local Energy Project (CCLEP) with Boreal Access and Katherine Hellner of Grand Marais. CCLEP received a grant in 2009 from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation in Duluth to create a ridesharing website for use by Cook County residents.

I work at Lutsen Lodge front desk (and live in Tofte) but I drive to the Twin Cities every week for a couple of days to see clients. I can easily deliver things there or pick up stuff from the cities, or offer rides there or back; I'm trying to save gas expenses.

I'm driving up to Grand Marais from Duluth mid-day Thursday, October 27th for the evening and returning sometime (flexible) on Friday, October 28th. Anyone needing a ride either way let me know
